For nonprofit leaders
Thank every donor, by name, in your own voice.
You want every donor to feel known and thanked. You will never have time to call them all. Personally closes that gap: when a gift comes in, the donor hears a short thank-you from you, saying their name, in your voice, within hours.
Live before Giving Tuesday, December 1. Five founding spots.
Siobhan
Siobhan, hi, this is Dana Whitfield at Harbor House. I saw your gift come in this afternoon and I wanted to say thank you myself.
The gap
You'd call every one of them
if you could.
You call the major donors. Everyone else gets an automated receipt and, weeks later, maybe a letter. There are simply more gifts than hours. Most of those donors never hear from you, and most never give again.
Fewer donors gave in 2025 than in 2024, even as dollars rose. Fewer people are carrying more of the load. FEP
Of first-time donors give a second time, on average. Four in five are gone after one gift. Bloomerang, citing FEP
Is all your leader records once. After that, every gift gets a personal thank-you without anyone picking up a phone.
How it works
Set up in an afternoon. Thanks every gift after that.
No new staff. Your leader gives three minutes once; whoever runs your annual fund spends a few minutes a day.
Your leader records for 3 minutes
Read a short script into your phone or laptop. With written consent, Personally makes a voice that sounds like them and can only ever say the message you approve.
You write the thank-you once
Your words, with a spot for the donor's name. Hear it in your leader's voice before you save it.
You spot-check how names sound
Upload last year's gifts and listen to a sample. Common names approve themselves; your top 1,000 typically cover about 8 in 10 gifts on day one.
Every gift gets thanked, automatically
Connect your giving platform. When a gift comes in, the donor gets a voicemail in your leader's voice within hours, or an email version when we can't reach their phone.
The part we obsess over
Every Siobhan hears her name said right.
“The sweetest and most important sound in any language.”
Dale Carnegie, on a person's own name
Getting a name wrong is worse than not calling. So Personally checks every name, and the ones it isn't sure of wait for you. You don't approve every message; you see every one before it goes out.
- A machine listens first. Every take is transcribed and checked. Misses are re-recorded automatically.
- Common names approve themselves. Mary and James don't need your ear. Less common names wait a few hours in “Going out today,” where one tap pauses or fixes them.
- Fix it by saying it. If a name sounds off, say it out loud. A corrected take is ready in seconds.
- Odd entries never get guessed. Initials, company names and typos are held for a person, not spoken.
| Name | Gifts waiting | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Mary | 4 | Approved itself |
| Siobhan | 3 | Approved |
| Nguyet | 1 | Sends at 4:10 pm |
| Ximena | 2 | Fixed in 1 try |
| John and Sandy | 1 | Approved |
| J.R. | 1 | Held for a person |
One email a day shows what went out and the few names that need your ear. Most days it takes a couple of minutes.
Built to be trusted
The careful way to use AI with your donors.
Personally is built for one thing, thanking donors, and it errs on the side of restraint every time.
- Your leader's consent, in writing. The voice is made only from their own recording, and deleted if they leave.
- Plain disclosure. Every listen page says the message was spoken in your leader's voice, recreated with AI, with permission.
- Gratitude only. A thank-you never asks a donor for money, an event, or anything else. It just says thank you.
- Careful by default. One thank-you per donor per 30 days. Tribute and memorial gifts go to a person, not a machine. One click to opt out.
- Voicemail only with consent. We give you the wording for your donation form. Mobile numbers only, daytime hours only, and donors who haven't opted in get the email version.
Measured, not assumed
We'll show you whether it worked.
Plenty of thank-you programs are run on faith. Ours comes with a control group.
Personally quietly holds back 10% of donors at random. At 30, 60 and 90 days you see the second-gift rate for donors who were thanked next to donors who weren't. If it isn't moving your numbers, you'll know, and so will we.

Questions
What fundraisers ask us.
Will donors find an AI voice off-putting?
The message is your leader's words, in your leader's voice, with their written consent, and the listen page says so plainly. What donors notice is that someone said their name and thanked them the same day.
Our president doesn't have time for this.
Three minutes to record, once. After that, one daily email shows what went out and the few names worth a listen. Most days that's a couple of minutes for whoever runs your annual fund.
Which giving platforms does it work with?
Anything that can send a webhook or a Zapier event when a gift completes. We set it up with founding partners and test it with a real gift before anything goes live.
Don't studies show thank-you calls don't change retention?
A large study of staff thank-you calls found no effect on retention. That's exactly why Personally measures itself with a holdout group instead of asking you to take it on faith.
Is ringless voicemail allowed?
With consent, yes. We give you a line for your donation form, send only to mobile numbers during daytime hours, and stay in test mode until your counsel is comfortable. Donors who haven't opted in get the email version.
We already send ThankView videos.
Keep them for your major donors. Personally covers the other 95% of gifts that will never get a video.
Thank every donor you'd call if you had the time.
We're setting up five founding partners before Giving Tuesday. Setup takes one call.
